My Topic:
"Is the creativity learned in school or innate?"
What I hope to learn from this source:
I want to find the facts that supporting my current opinion, 'Creativity is learned.' and the way to grow creativity thorough education, learning.
Notes:
- creativity= important renewable source which we can tap into at any time. (I've never thought about this concept, using creativity as we want)
- Author's definition :Creativity is the process of generating new ideas, the ability to look at problems from different angle. =musical or physical ability(some might innately has more, but the thing enhanced by learning)
- The way to enhance creativity : INNOVATION ENGINE(creativity results from the interplay of our internal world and our external environment.)
The explanation of INNOVATION ENGINE ; Essentially, your knowledge provides the fuel for your imagination, which is the catalyst for the transformation of information into new ideas. This process is deeply influenced by a myriad of factors in your environment, including the physical space, the teams with which you work, and the implicit and explicit rules and rewards. (I think it's better for me to copy this rather than paraphrase it.):(
4. How to start INNOVATION ENGINE
:Bulding base of knowledges (because the knowledge is the source of creativity.)
Cultivating attitude (problems are opprtunities for creativity.)
Bulding habits(crafting spaces that are conducive to creative problem solving,
and instituting rules, rewards and incentives that reinforce creative behavior)
5. In addition, for enhancing creativity, we need culture to support and confidence, also we shouldn't think about frame or such things.
Final Thoughts:
My first step for Essay is how to define creativity. From this article I could define it. Also, with my new definition of creativity, It sounds mre resonable that creativity is learned. Thus I think now I have to consider the way to enhance creativity in school and the opposite argument that creativity is innate to strengthen my points.
